Concerts galore for Summer 2008 in the Valley

This summer offers a wide array of performances that are about to hit the Valley, giving everybody a little something to look forward to.

Kicking off the summer, or close enough, Rush will play the Cricket Wireless Pavilion on Thursday, May 1 for The Snakes and Arrows Tour. Tickets range from $26 to $79.50.

Right after that, Avril Lavigne will be at the Cricket Wireless Pavilion on Friday, May 2 for the Best Damn Tour. Her tickets can run for $14 to $49.50.

My man. Your man. Elvis Costello & The Imposters will be at Cricket Wireless Pavilion. They will be opening for The Police on Saturday, May 24. Tickets range from $40 to $225.

The Poets & Pirates Tour featuring Kenny Chesney and LeAnn Rimes will be here Saturday, May 31. The tour will be at the University of Phoenix Stadium with tickets ranging from $69 to $99.

The Cure will be at Dodge Theatre on Wednesday, June 4. Tickets range from $37 to $57.

The New Amerykah Tour will be here Saturday, June 14. The tour features Erykah Badu with the Roots at Mesa Amphitheatre. Tickets are $34.

Wednesday, June 18 brings Jimmy Eat World back to the Valley. Jimmy Eat World will play the Dodge Theatre for $29 to $32 from your pocket.

Tuesday, June 24 brings 311 and Snoop Dogg to the Dodge Theatre for Unity Tour 2008. They will be here with special guest Fiction Plane. Tickets are $51.50.

Vans Warped Tour ’08 will be hitting Phoenix on June 25 this year. The show will be at Cricket Wireless Pavilion, tickets running at $25.72. This year’s line up includes: Every Time I Die, Angels and Airwaves, Gym Class Heroes, Jeffree Star, Paramore, The Vandals and tons more.

Not a Warped Tour kind of guy or gal? The very same night is the 2008 True Colors Tour. This year’s line up includes: The B-52s, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Regina Spektor, Tegan and Sara, Indigo Girls and of course, Cyndi Lauper. The tour will be at Dodge Theatre on Saturday, June 25. Tickets range from $43 to $198.

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss will be at the Dodge Theatre on Tuesday, July 1. Tickets range from $42 to $315.

Sunday, July 20 will bring Steely Dan to the Dodge Theatre. Tickets range from $32 to $122.

John Mayer will be at the Cricket Wireless Pavilion on Wednesday, July 30. Tickets range from $31 to $55.

The Dodge Theatre will play host to the Steve Miller Band and Joe Cocker on Friday, Aug. 8. Tickets range from $46 to $122.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will be at Jobing.com Arena on Wednesday, Aug. 20. Tickets range from $49 to $93.80.

Wrapping up the summer, Dave Matthews Band will play Cricket Wireless Pavilion on Saturday, Aug. 23. Tickets range from $40 to $70.

That should keep everybody just about busy and just about broke for the entire length of the summer.
